HK Acroni Jesenice and the captain of the Slovenian champion Tomaž Razingar decided to go their separate ways and to terminate the contract, signed two years ago. The sports manager Zvone Šuvak explained the reasons for such a decision: »In this season the efficiency of Tomaž did not meet the determinations of the contract between the club and him. Considering that fact we agreed to terminate the contract.«

HK Acroni Jesenice is in a tough situation, since it is twelve points away from the eighth place in the standings. However, the team and the sports manager refuse to give up the desired playoffs. The proof is a new player in the ice hockey hall Podmežakla. Tomorrow the red jersey will be given to Canadian Todd Elik. The 43-year-old knows the EBEL excellent, because he had been playing in the league for a few years already (Innsbruck, Olimpija). Throughout his career he also played in Switzerland, where he participated in 279 games in NLA, and he even played a visible role in NHL (448 plays, 329 points) and AHL (119 plays, 133 points). »The statistics proves the quality of Todd Elik. He is the type of player that can contribute to our team a lot,« noted sports manager Zvone Šuvak.

The break in the EBEL league is dedicated not only to activities in national teams, but also in clubs. The lasts days were especially busy for sports manager of HK Acroni Jesenice Zvone Šuvak, as he dismissed head coach Ildar Rahmatulin after a series of bad results. Today he already announced the name of the new coach, who will try to save the hockey crew from Jesenice. After twenty rounds the Red Steelers are the last team in the EBEL standings. The playoffs, which are still their goal and wish, will demand some hard work from the new head coach of the Slovenian champion. Zvone Šuvak introduced the new coach and then he spoke to the press.
